First planted these on south side of house in a xeriscape garden and they did poorly. The two at one end of garden died and the two at other end of garden started doing better after I planted lots of other tall plants and grass around them to partially shade them. I live in Nashville, TN and these plants are doing great in the parts of my yard that are in partial shade with a little more moisture. They bloom well and attract many insects...
