Our plants are container-grown, which means you will receive a vigorous plant with a well-developed root system that has not been dug from the wild. We ship only the very best plants from our stock. Each plant is carefully packaged to prevent injury and is ready for instant and successful transplanting into your garden or landscape. We ship only well-rooted specimens; they are shipped in 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 inch pots unless otherwise noted.

Our shipping season for perennials is late April through October. Seeds are shipped year-round.
Orders are shipped chronologically as they are received and as all plants in the order are ready for shipping. We may ship plants before they exhibit new growth if the root system is healthy and vigorous.

Our plants are carefully packaged to minimize travel trauma. We use recycled packaging to reduce the waste stream and keep our prices low. We ship UPS unless otherwise requested. Most shipments arrive within 2 days in the eastern U.S. We ship Monday through Wednesday so plants will hopefully arrive before the weekend.

Care of Mail Order Plants
When your plants arrive, unpack them and give them a drink if the soil is dry. Store them in a cool place out of direct sunlight until planting. After planting, be sure to keep the root zone (the area the roots occupy) moist until new leaves appear. Once established in the appropriate habitat, your native plants will thrive without constant attention (their motto is: We thrive with neglect!).
